What is the CITCO?

The Intelligence Center against Terrorism and Organized Crime is the state agency that gathers, analyzes, and coordinates information to combat terrorism, organized crime, and violent radicalism. Its work consists of designing prevention strategies, supporting and coordinating security forces, preparing reports and statistics, and collaborating with national and international agencies on all matters related to these threats. It also acts as the sole point of contact for the Ministry of the Interior in areas such as human trafficking, the recovery of illegal assets, the control of materials linked to explosives and drugs, the screening of air passengers, and the removal of illegal content online.
