CITCO promotes an international course on cryptoasset traceability
The course, organized by CITCO, brings together experts from Spain, Andorra and Portugal to strengthen operational capabilities in tracing, tracking and seizing digital assets linked to organized crime.
The Intelligence Centre against Terrorism and Organised Crime (CITCO) has organised the 1st Advanced International Course on the Traceability and Seizure of Digital Assets, inaugurated by the Secretary of State for Security, Aina Calvo. The initiative brings together around thirty agents from Spain, Andorra and Portugal with the aim of strengthening operational capabilities in tracing, tracking and seizing cryptoassets linked to organised crime.
During the opening, Calvo highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to anticipate emerging threats and to enhance preparedness in the face of increasingly complex criminal activity. In this context, she stressed the importance of equipping specialists with advanced tools to combat criminal networks, terrorism, fraud and money laundering.
The course, which is advanced in nature and highly practical, addresses new technological trends related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Its design is aimed at providing knowledge directly applicable to criminal investigations and the recovery of illicit profits, thereby improving the response of the State Security Forces and Corps to constantly evolving criminal phenomena. The training, held at Telefónica’s Training Centre in Madrid, is supported by TRM Labs, a leading organisation in blockchain intelligence and transaction analysis. The combination of technical expertise, practical approach and international cooperation makes this course a benchmark in the fight against illicit finances linked to virtual assets.
